It's time to spring clean and get rid of your unwanted bulk furniture.
The City of Windsor has launched its Bulk Furniture Pickup program.
There is a maximum of two items per pickup and the cost is $10 per item.
Waste Collection of Contracts Operations Administrator Jim Leether says most furniture is accepted, but not appliances.
"We don't typically touch, what we call 'white goods' which is your refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, those types of things" he says.
Leether says it is easy to book an appointment by calling 3-1-1.
"Each zone in the city gets collected twice a month, collection takes place on Fridays and when you call 3-11, they would tell you when your next available date would be," he says
While only two items will be collected per pickup, Leether says there are some exemptions.
"Hey, I have a kitchen table and chairs, is that one item or is that , if you have four chairs, is that five items? No we do make exemptions for that type of stuff, that is one item," he says. "Sectional couches, the L shaped couches that can come apart, that is one couch."
The program began in 2017 and was meant to try and curb illegal dumping and to help resident get rid of unwanted furniture.
